Carriage House Samplings Designer Marty Barrick finds inspiration for Carriage House Samplings in the outdoors, where she paints in oils, and in antiques shops and museums throughout the mid-Atlantic area. She celebrates history and continues to add to the Hawk Run Hollow series which her sister Kathy Barrick artfully created. Her whimsical designs feature primitive people, animals, sea and landscapes, and historic quotes, and she has reproduced beautiful antique samplers. Marty paid homage to the newspaper industry after leaving her 27 year art director position with The Washington Post.
